  1. I have tried this program, and found it can take hours to convert a 500mb mkv file to avi. Sometimes this takes a half hour with less than stellar results, and causes the screen on windows 7 to blink when adding a job (3.0 version.) Also, if I a dvd decrypting tool, will mkv convert be able to sucessfully rip the dvd?

  3. so the newest version flashes like when you have windows basic issue. I'll give it a try sometime this week with another mkv file. Xmedia recode can do a 2 pass recode in about an hour, with similar results that takes mkv convert 4 hours! so with dvd ripping is it set up for unencrypted ripping (ie homemade dvds)

  4. Hi Nick i will look in to flash issue that you have i have windows 7 and set to basic theme as i only use a netbook and need to optimize as much as possible which is why i dont see that screen flash. You can convert encrypted dvd's with this application.

  6. thanks James! This is a really good program, thanks for making it! I'll try ripping one of my favorite dvds with it. Thats cool that you run this program from a netbook. The purists think converting and ripping should be done from a desktop!

  7. I have been having trouble converting mkv to avi lately. So basically what happens is that it gets to around 3% finished then just skips to 100%... Then when I open the converted file it only has 3% of the video without the audio... is there any way to fix this?

  8. Hi brokens0ulz does this only happen with a certain mkv file or is it all mkv files as I know I have trouble once with a corrupted mkv which would cause it end at a certain point.I have not changed any of the encoding as such in the recent revisions. Please try playing the orignal mkv file and skip past the said time position to see if it plays all the way through

  9. I watched through the file and it seems fine. It happened when I was converting another mkv file, it converted everything but without the video just the audio. I have tried it with 2 different files but I will download another mkv file and see it it works.

  10. try remuxing the file with mkv toolnix or something similar. there could be something that mkvconvert doesn't like, and will be fixed in this process. then try the file.

  14. Hi brokens0ulz i have spemt the last few days trying to encoded that mkv different way and with different programs. after alot of poking about with it I have found the problem with audio in the file is flac but when extracted and examined with flac it would not decode and ffmpeg gives me errors when trying to encode to mp3. I will continue to look into this but flac audio is a pain sometime's
